The architecture and interior designer Gae Aulenti was born in 1927 in Aulenti,italy .In 1954 she graduated from the mil polytechnic faculty of architecture and has been in private practice since than.Later after receiving her doctorate,she taught at the Venice faculty of architecture from 1960 to 1962 and in Milan from 1964 to 1967.She also spent 3 years working with Luca Rocini in Florence since 1974 she has been on the board of directors of Lotus international and has worked with Fiat and Olivetti.
Best Known For... Aulenti’s greatest claim to interior fame is her work during the 1980s on the conversion of the disused Gare D’Orsay railway station in Paris into a museum of late 19th-century art – the Musée D’Orsay – for which she received the Légion d’honneur from the French government.
