Oliver Kosta Théfaine is a French artist who uses a lighter in the most unique way; to burn intricate designs into ceilings. Growing up in the suburbs of Paris, it was common for him to encounter different forms of graffiti; with the most abrasive being those created by a lighter. His artwork focuses on interpreting these acts of vandalism and modifying them so they can be understood by the broader public. Ironically, when the same vandalism burn methods are applied methodically, they become embraced by popular culture as works of art.
2006 Add. Galerie exhibition in Paris and 2007 A.L.I.C.E. exhibition in Brussels designed by Oliver Kosta Théfaine.
